Top Camps and Destinations of 2009 by Travel + Leisure Readers

Luxury Travel Tips

The other day I got a magazine issue Travel + Leisure, summarizing the results of the annual World’s Best Awards. I think you will be interested to know what kind of leaders we have there.

Here it is in short. The best hotel in 2009 is recognized Bushman’s Kloof – lodge from Relais & Chateaux, in South Africa, 270 kilometers from Cape Town. There is an all-inclusive system. The word “everything” in this case means, in particular, excursions to the amazing rock paintings left by the ancient Bushmen. A typical eco-hotel, and apparently very good. You must definitely go there.

Travel+Leisure readers voted Bali as the best island holiday destination this year. Followed by the unique Galapagos Islands. Next is the island of Cape Breton, in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. Other top destinations are the Hawaiian islands of Kauai and Mauai, followed by the Maldives, the Aeolian Islands, Kauai, Maui, Maldives, Aeolian Islands, Mount Desert Island…

The best cities are Udaipur, Cape Town and Bangkok. Further down the list are Buenos Aires, Chiang Mai, Florence, Luang Prabang, New York, Rome and San Francisco.

Looks interesting top best lodges and resorts in Africa. It includes Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve (South Africa), Kenyan Governor Camp And Eagle Island Camp in Botswana.
