Lahta Plaza on the Gulf of Finland

Luxury Travel Tips

None of my trips to St. Petersburg is complete without a visit to the Gulf of Finland. This is a must be done for every trip. Therefore, to stay in one of the most spacious rooms of the Lakhta Plaza Hotel overlooking the endless Gulf of Finland — a stylish, spacious (72 sq.m), two-room Premier Suite with an incredible panoramic view of the Gulf of Finland was a great decision.

Lahta Plaza Hotel, finalist of the Russian Hospitality Awards, offers 111 comfortable rooms of different categories. The emphasis here is on the details and the exclusive interior, presented by modern design solutions.

LahtaPlaza Hotel is a 4* business hotel on the coast of the Gulf of Finland in the new business center of St. Petersburg. Directly in front of Europe’s largest tower Lakhta Center with a height of 462 meters. It is the highest in Russia and Europe and 15th in the world. Lakhta Center is one of the five most environmentally friendly skyscrapers in the world.

Other park areas are also within walking distance: the TsPKiO Park, the Yuntolovsky Reserve nature park, which provides good ecology compared to other areas of St. Petersburg. Add the Crystal Space & Wellness spa center, fitness room, sauna and excellent a restaurant with panoramic windows – on Saturday I didn’t go out to the center.

In the morning I relaxed in the spa, in the afternoon I walked along the bay in the Park of the 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg and admired the sailboats gliding through the waves, walked along the yacht bridge and admired the flyover of the WHSD that reminded me of the vertebrae of a whale. Well, in the evening I took all my St. Petersburg friends to visit a poetic apartment – a room of 72 sq.m. quite accommodated about 20 people.

Next time, perhaps you should stay in the 128m2 Presidential Suite. Here, in addition to a spacious living room with kitchen and dining areas and a dressing room, there are two spacious bedrooms and several bathrooms.

In general, there are so many categories of the most beautiful rooms in Lakhta that your eyes run wide: studios, superiors, family rooms, two-room suites, executive suites and apartments.

Well, according to tradition, recommendations based on the results of the last visit, what to do:

Breakfast: in “Dreamers” or “Charlie” with a view of the Fontanka in the first case and the Griboyedov Canal in the second. In the first cafe – coffee as a gift. In the second – a glass of sparkling wine.

The first one offers a variety of omelettes: from black omelet with crab and pike caviar to venison omelette, the second one offers all kinds of porridges: from millet, with pumpkin and custard to green buckwheat with parmesan and avocado.

And in that, and in another – delicious cheesecakes. In “Dreamers” there are ricotta cheesecakes with salted caramel and sour cream, in “Charlie” there is a giant cheesecake (1kg!) for the company.

In the “Dreamers” it will be more fashionable, it will be difficult to get to the table by the window without armor. In “Charlie” there is an open kitchen, more comfortable, 3 rooms and without reservation, everything will most likely work out too. Even at the most popular table against the wall with pink flamingos. However, it depends on the day of the week.

Dine: at the “Pool” by Katya Bokuchava. Under her leadership, the Mesto wine restaurant operates on the Petrograd side. From the concise menu of 15 items, you should try carpaccio and tartare, vongole, Sakhalin scallops and shrimp.

And also feast on donuts in the oldest “Pyshechnaya” (donut shop in Moscow), make wishes on the Kissing Bridge, rub the toes of Atlantes and the hooves of Pegasus on Bolshaya Konyushennaya, visit the Brodsky’s “One and a half rooms” museum, spy on immersive performances and kisses on Malaya, to buy monpasiers in tin boxes with portraits of Dovlatov and Saint-Exupery at the Singer House of Books and Emirskoye with Almonds at Severa, and toffee in chocolate Happiness at Krupskaya.
And that’s all – that’s such a simple St. Petersburg happiness, which was definitely worth going for!
