Recognized as one of the world’s premier wellness retreats, Ananda in the Himalayas extends its expertise in ancient wellness practices with a newly introduced range of traditional oriental therapies. These techniques play a vital role in enhancing Ananda’s holistic wellness programs.
On this occasion, Ananda is also revamping its Rebalance program to address hormonal balance, specifically menopause in women and also to address changes in testosterone and other hormones in men. (Contact us for more details on Ananda’s new rebalancing program)
Acupuncture, cupping, and moxibustion can help treat hormonal imbalances that cause heat build-up in the body, stimulate the central nervous system by releasing pain-relieving chemicals such as endorphins, relieve menopausal pain, and change neurotransmitters in the brain to relieves anxiety and nervousness. Acupuncture and moxibustion are found to be effective in treating chronic fatigue syndrome.
These new therapies and programs will be led by renowned holistic expert, Dr. Jitender Uniyal. With twenty years of experience, Dr. Uniyal is one of India’s foremost specialists in alternative healing. A doctor and teacher of traditional East Asian therapies, he specializes in acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping.
He brings a diverse range of experiences from his extensive practices in Europe, Canada, Sri Lanka and India. These therapies address a wide variety of issues, including chronic pain and migraines, immune system enhancement, disease prevention, anxiety, depression, health maintenance, and system rehabilitation.
Dr. Uniyal says, “In my decades of experience, I have had remarkable success with these ancient wellness techniques. Acupuncture, Cupping and Moxibustion have had a significant impact on cases with autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances such as PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), nerve and spine pain, neck pain and hip mobility. These therapies offer a very results-oriented approach to treating anxiety, depression and long-term addictions. They also work as restorative therapies for loss of nerve control, limb mobility, and have the ability to be supportive and recovery therapies after cancer.
Philosophy
In ancient India, holistic living was a way of life. Humans inevitably understood the balance of nature, the ways of the Universe, and how the elements influence not only our physical health, but also our mental well-being. It was understood that if they reach inner harmony, they will be at peace with their surroundings. On the fast track of progress, the world around us has changed as we have; but deep down, we have always understood and supported the beliefs and principles of our ancestors. To seek harmony, to balance again, to be one with their surroundings, Indians developed practices of “retreating” deep into the mountains, into the stillness of the hills, and into the sound of the rivers.
