I have just been informed about the opening of a new design hotel Yas Hotel on Yas Island Abu Dhabi. The hotel seems to be very nice, and if you are going to the UAE, then perhaps this is an option (although I will not advise, because I myself have not been there and I only know about the hotel from the words of its PR service, besides Abu Dhabi hotels – this is generally a topic for a separate discussion). The most interesting thing in this whole story is that The Yas Hotel opens during the Grand Prix Abu Dhabi (Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix), a Formula 1 racing series that will take place from 29 October to 1 November 2009. What’s the point here? And here’s what: The Yas Hotel is located in close proximity to the race track: its two towers are connected by a bridge thrown right across the very Yas Marina Circuit, on which all this action will take place.
The bridge, like the main buildings of the hotel, is covered with a “cloak” of 5,000 LED panels iridescent in different colors. The hotel rooms offer views that, of course, no one has yet raised their hand to name other than “breathtaking” … And the bar and lounge area hang on the bridge, right above the race track. That is, it will be very convenient to watch the races from them.
From November 3, The Yas Hotel will be open to everyone. And some time later, the world’s largest indoor entertainment and theme park Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, an 18-hole championship golf course, a harbor for 143 yachts and a shopping center Yas Mall with a total area of 269,000 square meters are promised to open on Yas Island.
